Míriel Mandala is yet another design inspired by Sir JRR Tolkien’s work; and the strength and elegance that radiates from each Tolkienian character! This mandala design is actually a set of three mandalas, which slowly transitions from octagonal to round shape and introduces interesting design elements to balance our own bit of illusion fighting and to emerge into something beautiful!

The name “Míriel” means Star of the Sea, and so the color inspiration for the mandala obviously comes from the Sea! From the rich colors of corals reefs!

Míriel is a big mandala consisting of 61 rounds and progresses from one small to medium octangular mandala and finally into large circular mandala. But you can stop after any round to make your own distinct applique.

This mandala presents great texture and play of colors, choose your own color palette for a unique masterpiece. It might look intricate at the first glance, but the instructions are easy to follow, thanks to lots of progress pictures in the pattern.

Final version of Míriel mandala can make richly romantic wall hanging (when framed with hoop) or a beautiful prayer mat, but then again, it is beautiful on its own as well!
The size of the finished mandala will depend on your gauge, yarn and hook size. My mandala turned out approx. 24 in across, after blocking (with DK weight yarn on 4mm hook).

With the purchase of this mandala, you will get a special discount of 50% to purchase Rivendell Square, use promotion code “tolkienfans”.

There are two copies of the pattern offered to download: one is very detailed with many pictures, and second copy is printer friendly (with written instructions only and no pictures).
