Mirror Pond Bonnet
The Mirror Pond Bonnet is written for TWO weights (Super Bulky and Light Super Bulky) and comes in FIVE sizes (baby, toddler, child, teen, adult). There is also a baby bootie cuff modification to be used in conjunction with The Meraki Bootie (more below).
The bonnet pattern is worked in a four stitch repeat, and can be easily customized to larger or smaller sizes with changes in cast on, needle size, and height.
This pattern can be made with two or three colors in the same weight yarn. There is an option to add an extra thin yarn to the two decorative stitch rounds. It is a fun way to experiment with color combinations and a great way to use up scrap yarn.
This pattern works well in both high and low contrast colors.
In Super Bulky weight yarn, the baby size takes a total of about 20 yds Color A and 30 yds Color B. In the adult size, it takes about 30 yds Color A and 55 yds Color B. Other sizes will fall between these two sizes, and Light Super Bulky will take a bit more than Super Bulky.
Special Addition: The pattern includes a baby bootie cuff modification to The Meraki Bootie pattern by Karysha Clarke at isle.stitch. Photos show some baby sets with a Mirror Pond Baby Bonnet paired with matching booties based on The Meraki Bootie pattern. The Meraki pattern needs to be purchased separately, from the designer. Collaboration was done in full agreement and support. (Isn’t working together great!?)
There are several Mirror Pond patterns, to view additional color combinations it can be helpful to view these patterns as well on Ravelry and or Instagram. Some helpful hashtags to view on Instagrams: #mirrorpondbeanie #mirrorpondbonnet #mirrorpondheadband
