This is a Victorian pattern that seems to have been rewritten using modern US crochet terms. (see edit below)
No gauge is given, as is the case with most patterns of this era.(see below)

The pattern on web archive that I just updated here shows that the instructions for this pattern ARE original, not rewritten, as it calls for Corticelli thread, but we’re referring to the same pattern, as I found the pattern by typing in the url that went to a non-working web page into web archive. Even though the thread type given is no longer available, without size, the color card shows info about thread size. (see url below for color card).
