I designed this double hat specially for my little son Andrew. It’s warm, beautiful and perfect for babies! And these ears are so so cute! I’m sure your baby will love it!

The hat is seamless, worked in one piece in the round.

The pattern includes 5 sizes (head circumference in cm): 34-36 (1-3 months.), 38-40 (3-6 months.), 42-44 (6-9 months.), 46-48 (12-18months.), 50-52 (2-3 years).
In the pattern you will find detailed instructions with step-by-step pictures. Stitch patterns that I used are pretty simple and know to every knitter.

Difficulty level: intermediate.

Knitting skills required: basic knitting skills, working in the round, icord, Kitchener stitch.

Yarn: Mondial Extrafine, (100% merino wool, 191 yds/1.75 oz (175 m/50 g)) – 2 skeins.
But you can use any wool or cotton yarn of fingering weight (191-210 yds/1.75 oz (175-190 m/50 g)) for this project, just be sure to achieve required gauge.

Needles: US1 1⁄2 (2.5 mm), US 2 (2.75 mm) and US2 1⁄2 (3.0 mm) circular needles, US1 1⁄2 (2.5 mm) and US2 1⁄2 (3.0 mm) double pointed needles.

Gauge: 27 sts х 48 rows = 4 x 4’’ (10 х 10 cm) with US 21⁄2 (3.0 mm) in Seed st pattern (gauge for top hat).
28 sts х 40 rows = 4 x 4’’ (10 x 10 cm) with US 2 (2.75 mm) in St st (gauge for bottom hat).
