I take a big jump into autumn with my new design, Miss O.

If you enjoy stripes and length, my revisited pattern https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cardamom-6 is free until Sunday the 19th of August at 22:00 (Swedish time).

When you take a look at it you will most probably think: OOO- the 70’ties:)
And, yes, somewhere in the back of my mind this design has its inspiration from the days of the 70’ties. My mother and her 4 younger sisters were all long-legged, young ladies at the time; I was admiring them all and loved to watch the latest news they were wearing! And there were many tunics at the time:)

Design
Miss O is a relaxed and cozy tunic/dress to wrap into for comfort when the autumn and winter arrives. The A-line of the body is perfect worn over skinny jeans or tights:) With its lace-patterned hem and cuffs, the stripe-patterned section it is made for smiles and joy.
The upper body is shaped by decreases over front and back only, meaning that the stitch-count of the sleeves is unchanged. I made a cozy collar as this is how I love to wear my sweaters, but any neckline will be lovely.

Construction The lower body and the sleeves are worked in the round until underarms. Pieces are joined and worked to the collar in one piece. All the knitting is from RS and in the round. The tunic/dress is completely seamless. The underarm sts are bound off using the 3-needle bind off method.

Sizes There are 5 sizes to choose from. Finished bust measurements are 30.5/35/40/44/48.5”. The sample is made in size 35” with a couple of inches of ease. Choose size depending on how much ease you want.
The lower hem is 40cm/16” wider than the bust circumference (for all sizes).

Materials
Yarn: I used Rowans Kidsilk Haze to work the tunic/dress. This yarn comes in balls of 25gr/0.88oz and 209m/229yards. You will need approximately 3/4/4/5/5 balls of MC (Turkish Plum), 2/2/2/2/3 balls of CC1 (Shadow), 1 ball of each of the following contrasting colors: Hurricane, Purplicious, Blackcurrant.
Play around with your favorite colors:)
Needles: I used a long, circular needle 3mm/US2.5 to work the body and sleeves (the sleeves were worked using the magic loop). If you prefer you can use a set of dpns for working the sleeves.
The needle size is a suggestion only, you need to use needles to obtain gauge!
Notions: removable stitch-markers, holders (for the underarm sts as well as for holding the lower body and 1 sleeve before joining).

Gauge 24 sts and 35 rows = 10x10cm/4X4” (measured after washing/blocking)

Knitting skills The knitting is very basic. If you can cast on, work simple lace following a chart and/or written instructions, binding off and making decreases you have all that is needed to work this pattern.
