Do you want to try a new construction? You can do it with this shawl. All the stitches for the full wingspan are cast on at the beginning and is then shaped by short rows.

  • The shawl is crescent shaped.
  • For this shawl use preferably solid, semisolid or tonal, DK, sport or fingering weight yarn.
  • There are 5 different sizes to knit.
  • For this pattern you have to know how to knit cables, lace and short rows. The pattern contains a description for the short rows.
  • After the body with simple cables the edge combines cable and lace patterns.

SIZES
XS, S, M, L, XL:8 ¼, (9 ½, 10 ½, 11 ¾, 13)” x 57 (64 ½, 72, 79 ½, 94 ½)”21 (24, 27, 30, 33) cm x 145 (164, 183, 202, 240) cm. Gray blue shawl on the pictures in size S. The green shawl was knitted from fingering weight yarn, in size M.

GAUGE
21 sts x 32 rows in 10 cm (4 inches) in st st.
Please note that in this particular project getting the right gauge is not essential. However, working with different yarn weight / gauge will effect both the yardage and the final size of the project as well.
