This simple lightweight hat is designed for all of that beautiful sock yarn you have in your stash, but don’t want to hide in your shoes! It has a simple stitch pattern that will handle any colorway you want to throw at it, from a Donegal to self-striping to variegated. This is easy enough for a new knitter, but interesting enough for an accomplished one!

Finished Size: 20” around, 25” stretched, 8” tall, easily adjustable
Yarn: Chaos Fiber Co. Freckles Sock Tonal, 85% Superwash Merino, 15% Donegal Nep, 430 yards/100g. Sample knit in Lavender Mist. Sample used 145 yards.

Needles: Set of 5 double-pointed needles or 16” circular needles, size 3 US (3.25 mm), or size to obtain gauge

Gauge: 24 stitches/32 rows per 4” in blocked stockinette, knit in the round.
