Riversong

I find my way through rocks and stones,
streamlines form where fish do roam.
Bleak rocky shore changes to brush,
fish and frog do like the lush
undergrowth, to hide and thwart
kingfisher’s eyes are very sharp.

And fog ebbs into meadows thick
as cooler nights are nearing quick.
From mountain stream down to the sea,
mist and dew will follow me.

Mist & Spray is the fourth installment of Riversong: 2015 Shawl Club, and is exclusively available as part of the pattern club until 2016. If you would like to know when I release new patterns (and the single patterns from the club), you can sign up for my newsletter here.

Full written and charted instructions

A moonlit haze shrouds over meadows as fog rises from the warmer water in the cooler autumn nights and silver dew forms on everything. The water splashing and sparkling on rocks and the silent ripples and water-movements that are left behind by unseen tail flicks of swimming creatures hidden under the still surface of the water all found their way into this shawl.
Worked from the top down with optional beading, this shawl celebrates water in its myriad of forms:
Ripples, spray, mist, fog and sparkling dew in the moonlight.
