Mistletoe
Note: This pattern is developed from a personal project that I designed for myself. There is currently one size only.
Mistletoe is a toe-up sock pattern inspired by Hitomi Shida’s Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible. The curving lines of the lace stitch invoke stylized botanical illustrations, balanced by the solid 4-stitch cables. While the stitch panel may seem complex at a glance, the only uncommon technique would be the nupps, which can be easily substituted or omitted.
For my pair of Mistletoe, I used short row toes and short row heels, the instructions for which are included in the pattern. However, you can easily substitute your preferred toe and heel construction. I am planning on knitting a version with gusset-and-flap heels — I’ll update the pattern when that happens.
