Welcome to my Net Ornament Cover Series! This pattern is designed to look like seasonal leaves and berries!

This cover takes about 50 yards of thread and nearly 100 beads (or 300 seed beads if you use three beads at each point as I did for the Holly version). To make Mistletoe, use a light green and white beads. To make Holly, use a dark green and red beads. have used a smaller hook than normal for size 10 thread because I want the chain stitches to stay tight. However, if you prefer to use a slightly larger hook it won’t make much difference. The pattern is designed for standard size ball ornaments in the USA which are slightly larger than 2.5” in diameter, or about 8.5” around the widest part. I strongly recommend using plastic ornaments, since blown glass balls can break under the crochet.
