The Misty hat is part of my Love in a Mist series, which includes the Love in a Mist sweater, and the Could this be Love in a Mist cowl. It is based on the flower, Love in a Mist.

This hat is knit in the round, starting with the brim. It uses sport weight wool in two colors, one for the background, and one for the colorwork. The colorwork motif uses just half a skein of Spincycle Dyed in the Wool (or sport weight wool of your choice) making it the perfect project for using up partial skeins.

The hat measures 20-inch (51 cm.) circumference by 8.5 inches high, and will fit up to 22-inch heads. There are options in the pattern to make this taller and slouchier.

Needles:
Size 3/3.25 mm. 16-inch (40 mm) needle for the ribbing;
Size 5/3.75 mm. 16-inch (40mm) circular needle for the design; Double-pointed needles (or your preferred method) for working small circumference at the top.

Yarn:
150 yards (137 m.) of sport weight yarn of your choice for the background. (Sample uses Knotty Pine Fibers Snowy Range Sport).
100 yards (92 m.) of sport weight yarn for the colorwork. (Sample uses Spincycle Dyed in the Wool.)
