The Misunderstood Witch Hat is built from the bottom up, ensuring a good fit around the circumference of the head before moving on. One size will fit most adults and teens; the pattern includes notes for adjusting parts throughout, the way the hat is built will allow for sizing proper fit as the hat is made.

I suggest approximately 1000 yards of acrylic yarn for this hat, but wool seems like another good option depending on budget, preferences, and climate. I have utilized all the same black acrylic yarn here, with the exception of a small bit of sparkle yarn used for the brim edge - this change is not necessary.

I hope you give this pattern a chance, and love it as much as I do. I’ll be sporting this Misunderstood Witch Hat for Halloween and beyond.
