Like all minimal knits | DESIGNED scarves, MK#59 drapes beautifully, can be worn in all sorts of ways, and is quick to knit because the pattern uses needles larger than is standard for the yarn.

Designed in an asymmetrical shape, the smocking technique is a bit awkward every 6th row, but the other rows just involve adding stitches at one edge and working 10 stitches of rib at the other edge, all the rest is just plain garter.

When we’re ready to finish the third edge, we work it all the way across in rib with smocking and then finish with a very stretchy cast off.

The pictured scarf was made from a 100g skein of Bombed Yarns 4ply 100% hand dyed wool in the colour Teal Death Do Us Apart, and measures 176cm / 69½ inches, by 146cm / 57½ inches, by 54cm / 21¼ inches without blocking.
