Funny story: Last spring I sat down to knit a cute little headband for my shop that my customers would want to wear all year. I had no pattern in front of me and no clear picture in my head of what I wanted it to look like; I just waited for an idea to form as I worked. Then, I suddenly caught a vision of what would become the Mobius, and couldn’t stop grinning! I fell even more in love with the idea once it was finished and on my head, and I bet you will too!

My Mobius headband design is a forever favorite of mine because not only is it super adorable, the fact that it’s so quick and inexpensive to knit makes it the perfect stock item for selling at handmade markets. I also love giving them as gifts! This pattern is E X T R E M E L Y adjustable, and will look amazing when made with any yarn you have on hand, and can be made in any size to fit any of your favorite humans. These headbands are really fun to make as well, and they make a great movie knit because the stitch pattern is so easy to memorize. (Spoiler alert) There’s even a crazy twist at the end!

For my gorgeous pattern sample, I used Lion Brand Scarfie yarn in the colorway Cream / Taupe (Click here to purchase!). This soft and squishy wool blends is one of my favorites ever, and each ball of light bulky yarn is super affordable and contains enough yarn to make five, yes you read that right, FIVE Mobius Headbands!!

To create the Mobius Headband, you will need the following materials:

  • 35 yds of super bulky (6) yarn + US size 19 (15mm) knitting needles OR
  • 50 yds of heavy bulky (5) yarn + US size 11 (8mm) knitting needles OR
  • 62 yds of light bulky (5) yarn + US size 10 (6mm knitting needles OR
  • 100 yds of worsted (4) yarn + US size 8 (5mm) knitting needles
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors
