Originally inspired by a sweater worn in the holiday favorite Love Actually, this design has festered and morphed on my needles over the years, turning into a boxy fit, mock turtleneck pullover featuring an intarsia panel up the front and at the cuffs. The floral motif can be worked in intarsia or can be created later with a duplicate stitch. Knit in an Aran weight, this pullover should have a loose fit with approximately 4-10” of ease.

This pattern has not been vetted by multiple test knitters so I am sending it out into the knit world as a free pattern. The yarn requirements are approximates. Please feel free to DM me here on Ravelry with any questions or errata.

Construction: Body is knit flat then joined at the shoulders to knit the turtleneck as one piece. Body is then seamed at the sides and sleeves are worked in the round from the top down.

Floral pattern is charted only.

The pattern and charts are written with intarsia in mind. If you’d rather work the floral motif later, create the front and cuff panels following the instructions but work the third color as a duplicate stitch when the sweater is finished.

The shoulders and neckline are shaped with short rows. I prefer to use German Short Rows (DS) and the pattern is written that way but you can use any method of short rows that you prefer.

Dimensions: intended to be worn with 4-10” of positive ease. Pick the size that matches the amount of positive ease you prefer.
