Mock Cables add a delightful texture to this asymmetrical triangle shawl.

The Mock Cables look deceptively difficult but they are easy to do. And way faster than cabling! Instead of crossing stitches, they are passed over. As with many of my designs, it was my mother who inspired me. She likes cables, but not as allover pattern. One day, she asked me if I could design a shawl that had the look of cables but was faster to knit. And after some swatching, Mockingcable was created!

Mockingcable is knitted sideways. Started at one tip, it can be knitted to any size - or until you run out of yarn! For my sample, I used 1 skein Cascade Heritage Solids in the color Iris. Because gauge is not crucial for this shawl, it would also work in Lace yarn or heavier yarn weights. An I-Cord Bind off adds a neat finish.
