Materials:

  • 4-ply yarn -- 43 ozs. main color, 1 oz contrasting color
  • K hook
  • K afghan hook (or sizes needed to obtain gauge)

Gauge: Afghan hook, 7 afghan sts = 2”; 3 afghan st rows = 1”. K hook, 3 dc = 1”; 3 dc shell rows = 2”

The center, where the Model “A” is cross-stitched on top of afghan stitch, is done in rows across. The remainder is done in rounds using shells.

Stitches used include: slip stitch, chain, afghan, cross-stitch, single crochet, double crochet.
