This modern pullover has a flattering deep scooped neckline and beautiful cable detail up the front and back of the sweater. It is the first of our sweater’s we designed and is one of our favourites.

This sweater is knit with aran weight wool and the sample was worked with aran from New Lanark Mills (100% Pure New Wool), 100 grams = 176 yards/160m. The gauge is 17 sts/25 rows = 4” in (10cm) stockinette stitch. The sample is knit in natural white but there are many other great colour options with the New Lanark wool.

The pattern includes instructions for five sizes, these are X-Small (Small, Medium, Large, X-Large) with corresponding blocked bust measurements of the finished sweater of 33” (37”, 41”, 45”, 49”). The amount of yarn for each size is 8 (8, 9, 9, 10) balls of New Lanark Mills, Aran. The sweater is meant to be relatively close fitting so pick the size that is close to your bust measurement but that still leaves some room to be comfortable.

The sweater is knit from the bottom up. It is worked flat as four pieces (two sleeves, front and back) and then seemed together. The neck ribbing is worked last from picked up stitches around the neckline.

Happy knitting!
