This pattern uses the Herringbone Single Crochet technique to create a coaster perfect for sprucing up your patio or living room this summer. With two yarns held together, it’s thick, sturdy, and perfect for keeping those water rings off your tables.

Not to mention - they also look adorable!

To get the marbled look, I held two strands of yarn together - one solid white and another variegated.

Each coaster only uses about 28 yards of yarn, about 14 yards per strand, making it perfect for using up scraps!

Finished project comes out to about 3.75” x 4” per coaster.

Pattern does include instructions and pictures for any new stitches - including the Back Single Crochet (BSC), Herringbone Single Crochet (HSC) and Back Herringbone Single Crochet (BHSC). I would not consider this beginner friendly unless you’re really determined - in that case, go for it!

Happy Crocheting!
