This pattern is a “recipe” to create a log-cabin style bag using modular techniques. It can be made to any size you like - larger for a darling project bag or smaller for kick about purse.

Note stitch counts are not given and gauge is just a suggestion. This allows your creativity to shine - use any yarn or combination of yarns you choose and knit to any size you wish. A great way to bust the stash.

For the pictured purse 500 yards of worsted weight should be sufficient or using a lighter weight yarn doubled for a sturdy fabric plan on 1000 yards.

Complete directions for finishing the bag are given, but feel free to let your muses flow.

The purse is constructed from two large and 3 smaller panels each knit individually then crocheted together although stitches could be picked up and a 3 needle bind off used.

For a more detailed stitch by stitch pattern stay tuned for the Color Block Purse coming in June 2011.
