From the Pattern Introduction: Incorporate a different yarn texture such as mohair or a velvet-finish yarn to make softer, less distinct stripes.

Pattern repeat: This pattern is worked in a multiple of 16 plus 2 stitches.

Notes on gauge: As with all of the stitch patterns in this book, the gauge is flexible depending on your yarn and hook choice. This stitch is popular for use in blankets.

Pattern Number 7 in the book, page 18.

Related patterns: Patterns 5 and 6, Shaded Chevrons and Velvet Chevrons, are the same stitch pattern differing only in color striping.
