Moitié Moitié could be translated as “fifty-fifty”.
And my design for the hat and fingerless gloves has exactly fifty per cent of each of the 2 stitch-patterns involved,
the cable stitch-pattern and the moss-st pattern.
I love the texture of them both!
Here I play with the 2 patterns to give an extra interesting look.

The fingerless gloves are worked bottom-up and in-the-round, from cast-on to the fingertips.

The hat is also worked bottom-up and in-the round, from cast-on to the top of the crown.

Materials
Yarn: I recommend any fingering weight yarn that knits up to gauge.
I used “Loft” from Brooklyn Tweed, in the colour-way “Snowbound”, to work the set.
This fingering weight, merino yarn, comes in skeins of 50 gr/1.76 oz and 251 m/274 yards. Of this specific yarn you will need approximately total of 325 m /355 yards to work the set (150 m/165 yards for the gloves/ 175 m/190 yards for the hat). Needles: Size 3 mm/US2.5 (or size to meet gauge). Notions: Stitch-markers. Cable needle. Separate holders, or waste-yarn (for the fingerless gloves only). Blocking tools. Tapestry needle. A row-counter is always useful.

Sizes

The gloves The size is one-size, but you can alter the circumference by working at different gauges.
Worked at gauge (27 sts = 10 cm/4”) the circumference of the gloves is 17.75 cm/7”. Worked at gauge 26 sts = 10 cm/4”, the circumference of the gloves will be 18.5 cm/7.25”. Worked at gauge 25 sts = 10 cm/4”, the circumference of the gloves will be 19.25 cm/7.5”. Choosing size: Take a measurement around the widest point of the back and the palm of your hand

The hat
The hat is one-size. You can alter the size by working at a slightly different gauge: Worked at gauge (27 sts = 10 cm/4”) the circumference of the hat is 44.5 cm/17.5”. Worked at gauge 26 sts = 10 cm/4”, the circumference of the hat will be 46 cm/18.25”. Worked at gauge 25 sts = 10 cm/4”, the circumference of the hat will be 48 cm/19”.

The pattern
The stitch-patterns of both the gloves and the hat are written out round-by-round. The cable-stithc pattern is charted.
The crown of the hat is written out round-by-round.
