Brew a cup, settle in, and let your stitches steep. Mokelien is a long, slender scarf worked in a gentle lace motif that unfurls like tea leaves in hot water. Inspired by the quiet comfort of a tea shop or an unhurried coffee break, it’s designed to bring calm with every row.
The scarf is worked from each end toward the centre, creating mirrored halves. Once both sides are complete, they’re joined using Kitchener stitch for a smooth and continuous finish.
The lace repeat is simple enough to memorize but provides enough interest, perfect for peaceful evenings, weekend afternoons, or any time you need to breathe and knit.
