Mokosh is a Slavic goddess, protector of women’s work (including spinning, weaving and shearing sheep), as well as women’s destiny. The colors of this shawl evoke the damp new beginnings of springtime—Mokosh’s name is derived from words that mean “moisture,” which seemed apropos for a shawl knit from colorways named Pond Scum and Scumbubbles. I actually like BOTH sides of this shawl so have photographed it both ways.
