Monarch Butterfly
I have designed this pattern mainly for my own pleasure. My very first pattern on Ravelry was a monarch caterpillar, and since then I have had in mind to design a butterfly to accompany it. If you like knitting combined with a little bit of embroidery, this is the pattern for you.
I have suggested the wool I used, which was a slightly orangey red, but I am sure other wools would work well.
Forgot to say that the finished butterfly is approx 4 inches wide, about the size of a real monarch butterfly.
This pattern comes with two versions. You can either knit a flat butterfly, to use for applique, or knit a 3-dimensional butterfly, which would make a lovely toy or mobile. The pattern comes with instructions and colour charts.

The butterfly sets in my Etsy shop are currently sold out, but I will have a few more soon.
