This PDF pattern for my Monarch Butterfly includes written and detailed photo instructions.

I have a FREE video tutorial of the pattern for the butterfly on my website and YouTube channel: https://stellasyarnuniverse.com/butterfly-amigurumi-tutorial

This PDF pattern is simply for those of you who prefer a pdf version of the pattern, that can be accessed offline or printed.

Pattern
The pdf version of the pattern has detailed step-by-step instructions that are accompanied by 153 images of the process.
The pattern includes photo tutorials on how to make a magic ring, invisible decreases in single crochet, color changes in single crochet and closing small rounds.

Construction
The butterfly is crocheted in 5 pieces. The veins and markings on the wings are embroidered. The wings are sewn on the body. There is the option of attaching wired legs and antennae to the amigurumi.

Required materials and tools:

  • Cotton yarn in 4-Ply/Sport or DK/light worsted weight in orange and black (or 2 different colors of choice) I used Rico Creative Ricorumi DK in Fox and Scheepjes Catona in Jet Black
  • 2.5mm crochet hook / Size B-1 or C-2, depending on how tightly you crochet
  • white embroidery floss
  • Stitch markers
  • Yarn needle
  • Large eyed sewing needle
  • Scissors
  • Craft wire (optional for the legs and antennae)
  • Glue (optional for the legs and antennae)
  • Small flat pliers (optional for the legs and antennae)

Size
If using the recommended yarn weight and hook size your butterfly will be about 4” / 10cm wide and 3” / 7cm long.

Language: English (US)
