The Monoko Tee is a beginner-friendly summer top with a drop shoulder construction. I kept the body simple and placed the diamond lace only on the sleeves, so you can learn how lace works without knitting it across the entire top.

Once your Monoko Tee is finished, you’ll have a stylish summer top and the skills to try another lace pattern.

♥ METHOD. The tee is knitted seamlessly from the top down.

You begin with the upper back, worked flat with increases on every row. Stitches are then picked up along the shoulders to work the two front sections. These are shaped at the neckline and joined to form one front piece.

Once the front is complete, the front and back are joined, and the body is worked in the round. The shoulder line is slightly shifted toward the back.

Sleeve stitches are picked up and worked in the round, either in plain stockinette or in the diamond lace pattern. The neckline is finished with 1x1 ribbing.

Designed with approximately 8–18 cm / 3.25–7 in of positive ease.

DROPS Belle (53% Cotton, 33% Viscose, 14% Linen, 8 ply / DK/ worsted, 50 g/ 120 m or 1.8 oz/131 yards per skein), color 30 Powder Pink.
You will need:
6 (XXS), 7 (XS), 7 (S), 8 (M), 9 (L), 9 (XL), 9 (2XL), 10 (3XL), 10 (4XL), 11 (5XL), 12 (6XL) skeins of 50 g / 1.8 oz.

Tutorial sample
Cascade Ultra Pima (100% Pima Cotton, Light/DK, 100 g / 200 m or 3.5 oz / 220 yds,)color 3867 Bronze.
You will need:
4 (XXS), 5 (XS), 5 (S), 5 (M), 6 (L), 6 (XL), 6 (2XL), 6 (3XL), 7 (4XL), 7 (5XL), 7 (6XL) hanks of 100 g / 3.5 oz.

Or approximately:

For the lace sleeves, I added Rico Design Creative Make It Perlchen in the same color alongside the main yarn. This is completely optional.
