This headband was inspired by the unique shape of the Monstera Leaf.

One size. Finished circumference is 20.5” / 52cm.

Suggested Needles: 2.5mm / US 1.5 32” / 80cm circular needles for magic loop, or your preferred needles for small circumference knitting in the round. (Use size required to meet gauge)

Gauge: 34 stitches and 29 rows = 4” / 10cm, of stitch pattern knit in the round and after blocking.

  • Please note that achieving row gauge is of particular importance as it will affect the fit of the Headband.

Yarn: sport weight
60 g / 240 yds / 220 m total
30 g / 120 yds / 110 m of each colour

Samples used: Spincycle Yarns, Dyed in the Wool and Nocturne, 100% wool (50 grams / 200 yards)

Construction: Using the provisional cast on method, the Headband is knit in the round resembling a tube shape, and seamed together at the end using the Kitchener stitch method. The scrunchie is then knit flat, and seamed around the headband.

stitch marker, crochet hook for provisional cast on, tapestry needle, scrap yarn.
