This wide brim ribbed beanie hat has seed stitch detail and can even be worn with the brim rolled up for a different look. It also knits up quickly in our Plum Squishy Bulky yarn so it’s great for all those last minute gifts. One skein of Plum Squishy Bulky in the Specter colorway was used to make the beanie in the photos.

Here’s a little background on the hat’s name: A little over a year ago I needed a hat for an upcoming vacation to the lovely city of Montreal so came up with this design. I originally knit the hat in a worsted weight acrylic yarn (ugh, I know) but it fit well and kept my head warm. I’ve since re-designed the hat for bulky weight yarn plus added an additional seed stitch stripe at the crown. By the way, that trip to Montreal was also where the idea to start Dye is Cast Yarns was born. :)
