The Moonlight Sweater is a top-down colorwork sweater.

A total of five colors are used in this design, incorporating both two-color Fair Isle (horizontal colorwork) and three-color intarsia (vertical colorwork) techniques.

The Fair Isle and intarsia sections on the front and back panels are worked flat, while the body and sleeves are worked in the round using circular Fair Isle.

Because the colorwork floats are relatively long and the intarsia sections are fairly complex, this pattern is not recommended for beginners.

It is best suited for knitters who can manage colorwork tension comfortably and have experience with at least three colorwork projects.
