I love versatile garments - those pieces that go from a trip to the grocery store to a night out, or humid heat to air conditioning, with ease. And I love things that are easy to wear, with no fussing or constant adjusting. Being beautiful, and relatively easy and quick to make, don’t hurt either! Moonlit Poncho is all of these things. Designed to use just one 100g skein of Silk Fingering gradient yarn it knits up quickly, and the lace patterns are deceptively simple. It is worked in the round from the neck down, and presented in both charted and written formats.

The yarn for the pattern can be purchased here, or get your choice of colorway custom-dyed here.

Yarn
1 100 g skein Apple Tree Knits Silk Fingering yarn in Rainy Day gradient; 100% mulberry silk, 434 yds (397 m)/ 3.5 oz (100 g)

Needles
US # 4 (3.5 mm) circular needles in 16 inch and 30 inch lengths (to accommodate increasing stitch count), or size to obtain gauge

Gauge
1 repeat of Triad Lace = 2.75 inches wide by 1.5 inches long, after blocking

Notions
Stitch markers, tapestry needle (for weaving in ends)

Finished size
Neck circumference: 23 inches
Lower border circumference: 65 inches
Length: 24 inches

Please note that while the lacy pattern of the poncho is very stretchy the silk yarn is completely inelastic; taking time to carefully check your gauge is crucial to obtaining a good fit.
