Moonwake is the reflection of the moon on a body of water and the Moonwake Shawl features a detailed edging of contrast skeins that are reflected in the body of the shawl.

The shawl is worked in one piece, starting at the narrow end. The contrast rows are worked so that you only need to weave in ends at the start and end of each color, rather than at the end of each row.

Yarn, Yardage, and Colors
The pattern calls for an equal amount of the main color and contrast colors. It uses 463yds/423m/100g of the main color and 92yds/84m/20g in each of 5 contrast colors, but can easily be adjusted to work with more/less contrast colors and with contrast colors of different sizes. For best results, the main color should contrast fairly well with the contrast colors.

The pattern calls for fingering weight but can easily be worked in anything from a heavy lace to a DK.

Notes are included for adjusting the following:
Longer/shorter solid section before the first set of contrast rows; longer/shorter solid section before the edging; more/less contrast colors; contrast colors of any length

Skills Required
