Moor House Socks
INTRODUCTORY OFFER - 50% discount automatically applied at checkout until midnight Fri 24th Oct GMT - no coupon code needed
Thoughts of the young Jane Eyre walking on the moors inspired this classic, timeless sock design. Small horn cables reflect the tussocks of heather which border the moorland paths. Double moss-stitch echoes the block-like patterns of cobbled streets in the Brontë village of Haworth.
Worked top-down in the round, the Moor House socks have a slip-stitch heel flap, a gusset, and a grafted toe. They feature a variety of textures, with mock cable ribbing for the cuff, double moss-stitch on the back of the leg and a lace and cable pattern which continues down the front of the leg and along the top of the foot.
Skills required: Cast on, knit, purl, k2tog/p2tog/ssk/k3tog/k3tog tbl decreases, slipping stitches, yarn over, simple cable stitches, k2twist (see abbreviations), knitting in the round, knitting flat, pick up and knit stitches, Kitchener stitch.
Suitable for intermediate knitters.
