“More Cables Hat” is worked bottom up, beginning in the ribbing 2 x 2 and then the body is worked in a cable stitch pattern. The pattern includes 1 adult sizes, but two versions of the hat. One with a short brim, and one with a long brim.

NOTES:

  • The hat is seamless and worked in the round.
  • Skill Level: Advanced-beginner, Intermediate.
  • The pattern includes both written instructions and charts.
  • This pattern is available in English.
  • Skills: basic knitting skills (knit, purl, ssk, k2tog, p2tog, pfb, cables), working in the round, reading charts or working with written instructions.

SIZE:

● M - middle teen/adult size, head circumference 22-23’’ (56-58 cm).
● The total height of the hats are 9’’ (23 cm)-12’’ (31 cm) after blocking.

Yarn:
You will need 85-130 gr Bulky or Aran weight yarn if the knitting gauge of the yarn is 18 stitches per 4 inches/10 cm. It’s not necessary to use only natural fiber yarn for this project. You can also use blends (wool blends, alpaca blends, etc.).

Final yardage: 139.4 yds (127.5 m) - 184.6 yds (168.7 m).

Needles:
● 16’’ (40 cm) US 7 (4.5 mm) circular needle for ribbing.
● 16’’ (40 cm) US 8 (5 mm) circular needle for body and needles for small circumference at crown (set of dpns).
● Check your gauge and adjust needle size(s) accordingly if necessary.

Notions:
