Mori* is a spirit of the forests. She sings to trees and befriends birds and squirrels. She spins old spiderwebs into the finest silk and makes her dresses with it. She’s not good at knitting though, and her dresses are never perfect but she doesn’t care, she was going to snag them with the thorns and briers anyway.

  • Mori is the Japanese name for forest. I like it because it’s three times the kanji for tree. Many trees = a forest. Perfection.
