INNER WILD Mori Cuffs - one quick, easy-knit pattern, so many styles, {+ featured in Outlander}

Mori Girl, wearing her vintage faux fur coat and pretending to be a bear ventures into the forest. But wait!

Perhaps you recognise the Mori Cuffs she’s wearing? You must have watched Outlander - yes, Claire was wearing these exact Cuffs in Season One. But knitting a pair of Outlander Cuffs is not all this pattern can do.

This one easy-knit pattern gives you so many styles. Like Mori Girl who will later dress like a woodland fairy maiden and perhaps a crystal elf near the river, you can use your Mori Cuffs knitting pattern to create any style of fingerless gloves from Japanese Forest or slow-living rustic to Austen to steampunk, prairie or fairy just by using different yarn.

Liberate your creativity: make your own INNER-WILD-style Mori Cuffs

You don’t need to use the boucle yarn shown in the first photo. Use any DK or worsted yarn you please. You can see here some the ways different yarns and cords can create different Inner Wild looks from this simple pattern and express your individuality, or that of your friends and family.

Which yarn will you choose? Change the knitted cord for obsidian beads or silver charms threaded onto bead cord, use a ribbon, add tassels or pom poms to your cord ends. Have no cords at all and knit them in a longer length in seed stitch. What about embroidering flowers on the backs or a heart in the palm?

It’s lovely how something simple can open up lots of creative ideas. This is what I design my patterns to do. I show you exactly how I made the original Inner Wild garment so you can knit them for yourself. And I encourage you to experiment and play which is deeply satisfying.

You can also knit a pair of Mori Cuffs to match any other garment you knit using your leftover yarn.

All materials - needles, notions and yarn - you’ll need are included in the pattern.
