The pattern on the circular yoke and the color make me think of trees and grass in the spring forest, and therefore I think MORIKO (“Child of the Forest” in Japanese) is a perfect name for my new pattern.

It is a seamless top-down sweater with a scalloped neckline and an intricate lace pattern on the yoke while the rest is made in simple stockinette. I included charts and video tutorials on how to hide the holes in your lace yoke, should you prefer this option.

My sample is made with 3/4 sleeves, but the top-down construction allows you to choose the length of sleeves and body according to your preferences.

The ease across all the sizes is 8.5-10 cm/3.5-4”.
The picture shows size 3 with 9.5 cm/3.75” of positive ease.

• The sweater is worked in one piece top down. You start with the circular yoke according to the lace charts.
• After the lace charts you separate the sleeves and the body, and work the neck shaping with short rows.
• After that, you continue working the sleeves and the body separately.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• basics (cast on/bind off, knit/purl, increase/decrease)
• short rows
• working in the round
• working from a chart (written instructions to charts are also provided)
