Mormor is the danish word for grandmother and this sweater is inspired by my grandmothers always elegant but practical taste. The mormor sweater is a top down construction with a textured pattern that is slowly worked into the different sizes and gives an even distribution of length and symmetry. It is an easy pattern to play around with sizes and yarn using bigger or smaller needles changing gauge or increasing more stitches as long as it adds up to a 4 sts repeat for front and back. The sweater texture works well with a variety of yarns wether it is held with one strand of mohair or lace alpaca or is knitted up in a dk weight or light worsted (see photos). Length of body and sleeves are easily adjusted and can be modified as knitted.
