The St. Lawrence river pushes the boundaries of what a “river” is, which is why French Canadians have their own word for it - “fleuve”. Mornings on the fleuve are a magical experience; the colour of the water as the sun reflects off it, the beauty of the sunrise, and the crisp morning air create an otherworldly experience. The Mornings on the Fleuve socks will keep your feet warm and cozy so you can watch the sun come up in total comfort.

Sizes
There are four sizes in the pattern: 1 (18cm / 7.25” foot circumference), 2 (20cm / 8” foot circumference), 3 (22.5cm / 9” foot circumference), and 4 (25cm / 10” foot circumference). Note that the sizes listed are measured around the sock, so find your size by measuring your foot and then subtracting 10%.

Yarn and Yardage
The original sample was knit in Wildewood Fibers MCN DK in Pearlescent and Morning Mist. MCN DK has since been discontinued, so I knit the second sample (pictured here) in Retrosaria Rosa Pomar Vovó in 07 Rose and in A567.

The yardage is approx. 165 - 215 yards, with C1 needing 55 - 70 yards, and C2 needing 110 - 145 yards.

Notions
Knitting needles (DPNs or circulars), cable needle, stitch markers, darning needle, and sock blockers.

Techniques
This pattern has quite a bit of cabling, so a comfortable knowledge of cabling is a must. Other than that, this pattern is suitable for sock knitters who are familiar with cuff down, in the round, heel flap and gusset sock construction. The cable pattern is both charted and written.

Le modèle original a été tricoté avec Wildewood Fibers MCN DK (80% mérinos, 10% cachemire, 10% nylon, 231 vg/100g) - coloris Pearlescent et coloris Morning Mist - qui a depuis été abandonné. Le modèle actuel est tricoté avec Retrosaria Rosa Pomar Vovó (100% NSW wool, 156 vg/50g) - coloris 07 Rose (C1) et coloris A567 (C2).

Il faut compter entre 165 vg à 215 vg total : C1 55 vg à 70 vg, et C2 110 vg à 145 vg.

Matériel requis
Vous aurez besoin d’aiguilles à tricoter (double pointe ou circulaires), une aiguille à repriser, des marqueurs de mailles et des bloqueurs de chaussettes.

Techniques
Ce modèle convient aux personnes qui sont familières avec les chaussettes construites à partir du haut, en tours et à talon avec rabat et gousset, et torsades simples. Le motif torsade est disponible en diagramme et instructions écrites.
