I love patterns with a lot of detail and are fairly straightforward to create. This cowl is just that in my estimation. Moroccan Leaves is a combination of two charts that follow a logical pattern that can easily be remembered once you get in the rhythm and the piece overall knits up fairly quickly.

Skills used in this pattern are the basic knit & purl stitches with a few yarn overs and slipped stitches for simple variations in the look. Long tail CO and BO are recommended. Very basic hand sewing skills needed to complete the screens look.

The final piece measures approximately 30” circumference and 9.5” tall. It wears fairly loose and tall from the neck and shoulders. Its great when you’ll want extra warmth outside but a bit of breathing room once you’re inside again. The size is just right to do a small fold over inside the collar of your coat that you can then release to stand away from your neck if you’re too warm. The size and weight of this makes it my go-to in the winter.

I strongly recommend having at least the minimum yardage on hand to do this project. The screen sewing at the end might catch you out otherwise.
