Construction notes: The Morrison Top is a seamless halter-neck top worked from the top down. The neckband is worked flat in two separate halves — each beginning at the centre back and worked outward to form the halter straps. The two halves are then joined at the front, and stitches are increased to shape the front yoke, which is worked flat. The back is picked up directly from the lower edge of the neckband and worked flat as well, with increases shaping the back panel to match the front in width. Once both front and back have reached the underarm, they are joined and worked in the round from here onwards. The side ribbing flows naturally into the lower body, which is worked in stockinette with two side purl stitches as seam lines. The top finishes with a short, ribbed hem and a tubular bind-off for a smooth, invisible edge.

Inspiration: This top is inspired by Toni Morrison and her quote “You are your own best thing. “
