This pattern has come about due to my mosaic crochet addiction - hence the blanket’s name! I love the inset (2 row) mosaic method, which doesn’t have many ends to deal with, and couldn’t find a pattern with blocks like this in that style.

Some details:

  • This pattern uses the two row, inset mosaic crochet method
  • US crochet terms are used
  • There is a chart included
  • The yarn I used was 1 Scheepjes Whirl in colour Jumpin’ Jelly and almost 4 Whirlettes in colour Liquorice
  • If you do not want to add a border, 3 Whirlettes is plenty
  • The final size of my blanket is 85 cm x 115 cm (33” x 45”)
  • The pattern can be used with any weight yarn, and the size is easily adjustable
  • Any hook size can be used, choose one that gives your work the feel and drape that you are happy with
  • The gauge is not important for this project, it will however affect the final size of your blanket
  • It’s my first attempt at pattern writing, so please let me know what needs to be amended!
  • Have fun :)

Errata: rows 2 and 2a - every instance of sk1 should read sk3. The pattern has been updated, so check your Ravelry store :)
