This is an asymmetric garter stitch shawl, with a mosaic “cable” band that adds an elegant accent - and makes it look much harder than it actually is! The main body of the shawl is an 8-row repeat, and the only stitches required are knit, slip, kfb, and ssk. Instructions are charted, written, and also provided in a convenient shorthand form that will be explained in the pattern.

I designed this shawl to use two 100g skeins of fingering weight yarn. After blocking, it has a wingspan of 100 inches (254 cm) and a depth of 15 inches (38 cm). The size is adjustable, since the shawl starts from one tip and grows towards the opposite edge.

Needle size doesn’t matter; use a size that creates a fabric that you like. I recommend using a 32-inch (80 cm) or 40-inch (100 cm) circular needle.
