This Dog is completed in two ways; either matching your Mosaic Crochet pattern with Long Double Crochet (LDC) stitches and Back Loop Single Crochet (BLSC) stitches; or you can complete this block with the Back Loop Single (BLSC) Crochet for each row.

The 5 inch by 5 inch block pattern is 11 LDC rows (one row BLSC and one row LDC) or 22 rows of BLSC.

I found that it was easier for me to complete the Rocky Dog in the BLSC for 22 rows, and this helped to put the dog shape in the afghan realistically.
