This is a very quick trivet or mug rug --easily worked up in an evening and only uses 45 yards of 2 contrasting colors.

Makes a great gift.

Crocheted from the bottom up, 1 color at a time.

Each row starts and ends with a sc worked through both loops. Ch1 to join new color at beginning of row, leaving a tail for fringe. Ch 1 after last sc, pull tight to fasten off. Leave tail for fringe.

All sc in the pattern are worked in back loop only.

All dc are worked in front loop only of the stitch a row below where you would normally crochet into.

Each box is 1 stitch.

If box is blank, it’s a sc. If box has an X in it, it’s a dc. If box has / in it, it’s a sc through both loops

Ignore the color on the chart, just focus on whether it’s blank or has a symbol in it.
