Mosaiikit - Mosaic Yoke Sweater is inspired by antique mosaic floors, where geometric patterns repeat across the surface. The warm golden brown of the sweater is reminiscent of sun-baked limestone walls in the Mediterranean.

The sweater is worked top down, holding two strands of yarn together: a wool-blend yarn provides warmth, while silk mohair adds softness. The result is a lightweight yet pleasantly warm garment. Short rows at the neckline ensure a comfortable fit, while ribbing finishes the neckline, hem and cuffs.

The versatility of the Mosaic Sweater makes it perfect for everyday wear. The short-sleeved sweater works beautifully as a layering piece, and the large colorwork motifs on the yoke are clear and enjoyable to knit. Best of all, you won’t have to spend long knitting the sleeves!
Choose your preferred amount of ease – approximately 10 cm / 4 in of positive ease around your full bust measurement is recommended.

You can work the sweater using DK-weight yarn, or with sport-weight yarn held together with silk mohair, so that both strands are worked at the same time. For a lighter-weight version, use fingering-weight yarn held together with silk mohair. All these options work well, if you reach the gauge.

GAUGE
20 sts and 28 rnds = 4” / 10 cm in Stockinette Stitch and colorwork worked in the round, using the larger needle size (US 6 / 4 mm).

TECHNIQUES
German Short Rows
After turning, at the beginning of each row, slip the first stitch purlwise and make it into a double stitch (DS). See Abbreviations for instructions on making a double stitch.

Mosaiikit-kaarrokeneule on saanut inspiraationsa antiikkisista mosaiikkilattioista, joiden geometriset kuviot toistuvat sen kirjoneuleessa. Neuleen lämmin kullanruskea on kuin heijastus Välimeren auringon paahtamasta kalkkikiviseinästä.
Pusero neulotaan ylhäältä alas kahta lankaa yhdistäen: villasekoitelanka tuo lämpöä ja silkkimohair lisää pehmeyttä. Lopputuloksena on kevyt mutta miellyttävän lämmin neule. Pääntiellä lyhennetyt kerrokset takaavat istuvuuden, ja joustinneule viimeistelee pääntien, helman sekä hihansuut.
Mosaiikit-neuleen monikäyttöisyys tekee siitä täydellisen arkeen. Lyhythihainen neuletoppi toimii loistavasti kerrospukeutumiseen, ja kaarrokkeen isot kirjoneulekuviot ovat selkeät ja nautinnolliset neuloa. Parasta on, että hihasaarella ei tarvitse viipyä pitkään!
