A quick and easy knit that with self striping yarn gives maximum impact for minimal complexity.

These are named after the Moskstraumen which is located in the open Norwegian Sea and whose whirlpools can be up to 160 feet in diameter. The Moskstraumen was the inspiration for Edgar Allen Poe’s short story “Into the Maelstrom” - which brought the term “maelstrom”, meaning strong whirlpool, into the English language.

Mitts are worked in the round but the thumb will be seamed together after the mitt is completed. Or you can always do an afterthought thumb (instructions not included but so many available with google.)

These are written for DK but you can use worsted and do the smaller size. Eventually I will do some numbers for fingering.

If you can K, P, SSK, K2tog, YO - you can make these.

Instructions are written only.
