This hat was designed for the fabulous Anny Blatt yarn Nunki

It is so soft and beautiful! 71% Wool 29% Yak!

Because of its bulky weight it will knit up fast and with only two balls you can knit up this hat in several versions:

  • in the round

  • flat (which means in rows). I prefer the flat version because you won’t have to change to double pointed needles. This could be easier as a first hat project with cables. A small seam will be hidden next to a cable, practically invisible and closed with Mattress Stitch.

Materials:
FOR HAT WORKED FLAT (not in the round):
Straight or 24” circular knitting needles size US 8 (5 mm) and 9 (5.5 mm) or size to obtain gauge.

FOR HAT WORKED IN THE ROUND: 16” Circular knitting needles size US 8 (5 mm) and US 9 (5.5 mm) or size to obtain gauge, 1 set of double pointed needles in the bigger size, one stitch marker
Both Versions:
tapestry needle, cable needle, scissors, cardboard paper for pompom.
GAUGE: 15 sts /24 rows on US 9 (5.5 mm)4”/4”

You will also find a photo tutorial in this pattern on how to make a pompom without a pompom maker.
