Named for one of Victoria’s many wonderful markets, this bag is made with Cascade’s Avalon cotton/acrylic blend, which results in a sturdy and washable bag. Buttons on the side panels allow for expansion, and the pattern provides instructions to add wooden handles or to crochet a strap. You may choose, as I have, to sew in a lining to give the bag additional strength and a bit of colour on the inside.

Measurements: 13” x 13” x 4”

Yarn: Cascade Avalon (cotton & acrylic blend, 175yds/160m per skein,) - 3 skeins in desired colour

Gauge: in side and bottom panel pattern, 4” = 10 (sc, ch1) sts and 17 rows

Hook Size: 5 mm (or hook to obtain gauge)

Other materials required: 2-3 buttons, material for lining if desired, bag handles to fit a bag approximately 14” wide for option 2, sewing needle and thread.
