Mossy Mitts
A quick and simple knit for a pair of mossy wrist warmers that are just right for stashing in your pocket for a woodland wander.
If you’re looking for a fast gift knit, these can be done in an evening or two.
Please note: This is for a PDF knitting pattern for wrist warmers, not for a finished pair. You will receive a PDF copy of the pattern emailed to the email address you provide to Ravelry.
Yarn:
90-110m (approximately) Studio Donegal Soft Donegal, or any aran or worsted weight yarn with a similar gauge.
The possibilities are endless – knit lots! ^_^
Tension/Gauge: 18sts over 10cm/4 inches in stockinette stitch. It’s worth taking the time to get the stitch count right so your finished mitts fit well.
Needles: The mitts are knitted in the round.
5mm DPNs or circular needles (or size needed to achieve correct gauge).
Plus the next size down for the ribbing sections.
Other items needed:
2 stitch markers, with an optional 3rd beginning of round marker
Tapestry or wool needle
Length of waste yarn for holding stitches
Sizing: S/M and M/L
Sizing (approximate) is measured around the knuckles at widest part of the hand.
Small/Medium - 7-7.5 inches / 18-19cm
Medium/Large - 7.75-8.25 inches / 19.5-21cm
As a guide, the Wristy Mitts pictured were knitted using Studio Donegal Soft Donegal (colourway 5524 Deep Red) and took 44g (85m) for the finished pair in size S/M.
